SOCIAL ACTION

TZEDAKAH AND VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Community Stress Prevention Centre Report 2006

Social Action Committee

Mission: To provide to the Beth El membership a wide breadth of activities to allow participation in projects and programs that will positively affect the lives of others, and will at the same time build and expand the community that is Beth El.  There should be options for people of all ages, and options for people at all levels of time commitment.  (Eg. Events that people can be involved in for one day, as well as commitments that are ongoing time commitments, weekly, monthly, etc.)

Beth El is a member of Durham Congregations in Action and the Interfaith Council of Chapel Hill. Through the Durham-Chapel Hill Jewish Federation, we participate in the UJA and in other local, national, and international Jewish causes. We support the B’nai B’rith Hillel Foundation and warmly welcome students from Duke and UNC.
