Beth El Preschool

3 Year Old Class Has Openings for January, 2009

Shalom and welcome to Beth El Preschool, an independant preschool housed in Beth El Synagogue.  Beth El Preschool is a safe, stimulating and fun preschool that encourages each child to develop their own sense of wonder, joyful individuality and personal achievement. Our low teacher-student ratios and small classes foster close friendships and joyful group participation. A loving neighborhood preschool for over 35 years, we happily foster an early appreciation for Judaism and a warm sense of community among all of our families.

During the regular school year, we offer four programs: Play Pals, Toddler Time, Early Preschool and Pre-Kindergarten. Play Pals and Toddler Time, our youngest classes, are designed for 18-24 month olds and 2 year olds. In each class there are eight children and two teachers. The Early Preschool and Pre-Kindergarten classes, designed for 3 and 4 years olds, have 12-14 children each and 2 or 3 teachers. We meet two, three, and five mornings a week from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon. We also offer a popular summer camp. All of our classes include a developmentally appropriate mix of structured and unstructured time. There is time for circle, music and dance, snack, reading, personal hygiene and teacher-directed projects including arts and crafts, building, science, drama, cooking, group games and storytelling-acting. There is also plenty of time for self-selected activities, free play in centers and outdoor play on our playground. The Jewish Holidays are taught and joyfully celebrated.

Partial financial aid is available, thanks to generous grant funding by the Durham-Chapel Hill Jewish Federation.

Beth El Preschool admits students of any race, color, national or ethnic origin to all rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, scholarships and loan programs, and athletic and other administered programs.

We welcome your interest and would be happy to show you around our school. For more information or to schedule a visit, please contact Lorri Gudeman, the preschool director, at 919-688-8704 or bethelpreschool@earthlink.net .
